Uncertainment Lounge Letter

Date: August 6, 2021

Summer Greetings Everyone,

Welcome back regulars and uncertainty curious explorers! After a long hiatus, our practice space resumes again next week reimagined as Uncertainment Lounge.

How might collective practices of ‘uncertainment’ help us build capacity to participate with the unknowable and uncontrollable? As with any collective process of transformation, we by definition don’t know where we’re heading, and by design we don’t have any maps.

But how tho?
We choose to practice befriending the generative tension of ambiguity without collapsing into shallow consensus or polemical narratives. We keep confidentiality in order to ensure the privacy of all participants, and we cap the space at 15 participants to keep things intimate. We explore real-time state experiences in order to build a relational social field conducive to not just the management of, nor even tolerance of, but rather to embrace our awkward and unfamiliar states of being. Getting curious about our uncertainty is a practice that builds our capacity to collaborate despite our differences.
